This free weekend meditation retreat is an introduction to Metta Vipassana or TWIM (Tranquil Wisdom Insight Meditation). Based on the Noble Eightfold Path as taught by the Buddha and stemming from the earliest Buddhist texts, this meditation enables you to gain swift progress through the jhanas, which are deep levels of awareness and understanding.
Using persistent Right Effort or Effective Application through this practice, you can develop mindfulness and cultivate joy that leads to Awakening (Nibbana or Nirvana).
Weekend retreats are a wonderful way for you to become acquainted with the practice of meditation following the early Buddhist teachings and also a good opportunity for deepening your practice by having direct access to an experienced teacher.
These weekend retreats are silent residential retreats conducted by Delson Armstrong, an experienced teacher in TWIM, who is known to easily guide students to the most sublime stages of progress. Most Venerable Bhante Vimalaramsi Mahathera specifically asked Delson to start teaching this practice.
